...A few words about my love of photography

I am most happy with a camera raised to my eye

Hello and thank you for stopping by! My name is Terree O'Neill Yeagle, I am a photographer, and all my life I have loved photography.

I began The Moment Photography many moons ago, in 1993. Since then I’ve had the good fortune to photograph thousands of faces in a career that has enabled me to grow and improve and brought me tremendous creative satisfaction. With each person that comes before my lens, I am able to see and document their beauty in a way that not only makes me happy, but brings them great joy as well. With desire and passion as the starting point, the circle goes, and I know that I will live always with my camera in hand. I feel I exist to create imagery that speaks of the wonder of life.

From the time I got my first Polaroid Swinger camera as a child, I’ve been obsessed with making photographs. Not a day passes that I'm not touched by photography. My camera is an extension of my being, sometimes I feel like I am a camera, kept alive by a burning passion of creating images. Photographs adorn the walls of my home offering me a glimpse back through the moments of my life with those I love. At the core of my happiness, a camera and some photographs and I am transported to an extraordinary place that allows my soul to soar!

When I open a magazine or book with photographs I haven't yet seen and I begin to turn the pages it is as if I’ve opened a chest of gleaming brilliant treasure, lighting me up like a firework. I have viewed and studied countless magazines and the photography of life they behold. It’s magic, and lucky for me, I’ve discovered it, embraced and loved it, for it’s given me a million beautiful moments!

There is a quote by master photographer Ansel Adams, that I came upon when I was much younger and traveling out west. I was wandering through an art gallery and came into a room of Ansel's beautiful photographs and written across the wall were his words....

“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”

To me this could not be any more true and without doubt, Ansel's words exemplify what it is that I bring to my clients. I am a student of the world and a lover of art and each time I lift the camera to my eye my mind is collaborating with my vision to not only offer my best work, but to style that work with all the world that has touched my heart, mind and soul. Whether I am photographing a couple in love, a woman as she carries her unborn baby, a group of children, or a family, working with my camera I am offering them pieces of my heart as I strive to document the love in their eyes. When I am tasked with photographing professionals in their workplace, outdoors or my studio my aim is to show the passion and confidence they own so that in just a visual their potential clients may see it also. This tool, the camera is utterly remarkable and I am graced to be able to use it well to help others so they'll always remember, so they'll never forget the amazing beauty that is their life.
